Verdict

SMUGGLERS BAY is the call in this contest with St Killian's Run and Manoubi on the shortlist. Tim Easterby's string are in good form at present and while Smugglers Bay hasn't exactly sparkled, he has dropped down the weights as a result. St Killian's Run has never quite achieved what he promised. He is rated less over chase fences than hurdles and seems to get on well enough with Wilson Renwick. Manoubi is a frustrating character but he has won around here previously and Graham Lee appears a solid jockey booking. Duke Of Malfi may have wanted a little bit more rain but he did exhibit progressive form toward the end of last term. Baltic Pathfinder is much better than his last line of form suggests. I'm Your Man is often one to note in the market given his shrewd stable. It's A Roofer is an archetypal summer jumping sort who may just need this first run back from absence. Ice Image held every chance when departing at Wetherby and does represent a stable amongst the winners. Smugglers Bay is the pick in a race where few can be written off.
