Verdict

MALAKIYA is the best of this poor bunch in a lowly seller, and if running to something like his best should be able to account for these, but any mistakes could allow Fishguard Filly or Black Mogul to land the spoils. Two runs this year haven't brought reward for Jonjo O'Neill's gelding, but he's had intermittent wins in his career, which is more than most here can say. None of his career wins have been at this trip, indeed he's never tried more than three miles, but he's expected to last the distance. Fishguard Filly isn't the most fluent of jumpers, and hasn't really progressed since winning at Fontwell earlier in the year. She's also been a useful pointer. Reg Hollinshead doesn't have many jumpers, and Robert Thornton being booked to ride Black Mogul could be significant. he's been well held since winning eight runs back in testing conditions at Hexham over only two and a half miles. It's not a race that we think will live long in the memory, but our support goes with Tony McCoy's mount, Malakiya.
