In depth

Verdict

One of the Boys, Weststern and Ryeman make the shortlist here, with WESTSTERN take to go one better after a promising chasing debut. Ryeman was not winning out of turn after a string of consistent efforts, and a 5lb higher mark and top weight may not prevent another bold showing. One of the Boys made a good debut for his new trainer when scoring for the Tim Vaughan yard in the autumn but he has not progressed since. He broke a blood vessel on his return and is best watched here. Weststern had been running well in handicap hurdles, before turning in a sound display in defeat on his fencing bow, just run out of it in the closing stages. Weststern can go one better here.
