Verdict

This looks a maiden well worth watching with the future in mind. Richard Hannon unveils a 230,000gns yearling in the shape of Alkhor, a son of Exceed And Excel, whilst Alshalaal needs noting on debut with the Meehan string going well at present. Both require a market check. The best form on offer is a toss-up between Mark Johnston's Miniaturist and Kevin Ryan's Top Of The Bank, both of whom shaped with distinct promise when filling the runner-up spot on debut at Leicester and Doncaster respectively, the latter after dwelling in the stalls before staying on well. Choosing between the pair isn't easy and we'll take PADDY POWER to overcome the two of them. Backed strongly into favouritism on his Ascot debut, he was disappointing after showing early speed. However, that could well turn out to be a decent race and the likelihood is he's notably better than he showed that day. Well regarded, he may prove a different proposition now.
