Verdict

DANDEREK is on a roll and can go in again back on the grass; Pendragon and Una Pelota can scrap it out for second ahead of Rosbay. Richard Fahey's charge makes his turf flat debut having won a pair of races at Wolverhampton. He's up 5lbs for the second of them and only just got up that day so this rise would appear to mean the handicapper has him, however the key may be this extra distance which can help eke out some improvement. Pendragon landed a hat-trick at Southwell earlier this year and has some similarities with our selection, the concern being whether he'd want quick ground. With that a concern he's opposed despite the fact the horse ran well at Ayr recently. Una Pelota was backed to make a winning debut last time before disappointing but is probably worth another chance under the assumption that money wasn't totally misplaced. Rosbay appears fairly treated just 3lbs above his last winning mark but he really would want some rain and that looks unlikely so he's taken on along with River Ardeche, another who ran well last time but his sole win on turf was on bottomless ground. With conditions likely to help bring about further improvement, Danderek gets the nod.
