In depth

Verdict

Postgraduate, Hinterland and Bailieborough catch the eye in this competitive handicap and the cut in the ground may see Postgraduate return to winning form. After wins at Newcastle, Catterick and Pontefract, Bailieborough will be a popular choice to take this and make it a four timer under seven pound claimer Greg Fairley. His win in soft ground Postgraduate, Hinterland and Bailieborough catch the eye in this competitive handicap at Pontefract last time was particularly impressive and he is only lightly passed over-this is a tougher contest however. Michael Jarvis runs Hinterland, a Newmarket winner on his debut, and a full brother to the classy Etesaal. He was confidently expected to win on that occasion and will go well here, but he is up against more experienced rivals and that may count against him. Hughie Morrison has always held a high opinion of Postgraduate and he has won twice with give in the ground at Lingfield and Ayr. He ran well at Newmarket last time, beaten only two lengths, and Postgraduate is taken to resume winning ways with ground conditions to suit.
