In depth

Verdict

Low numbers are best on fast ground but if there's rain around then high is best on soft going. Sharp Shoes has won a couple of little races at Hamilton and is 5lb higher but Dancing Freddy's recent good form is due to a drop in the ratings and he's respected. Tillys Tale went up 7lb for scoring at Southwell and that proved too much on her subsequent start at Ripon. Equuleus Pictor hasn't won for two years but has dropped to a very fair mark and ran well at Leicester last time. CRIMSON CLOUD was an unlucky loser at Newcastle last time when she stumbled as she was challenging eventual winner Cinderkamp. She has the benefit of Lee Topliss' claim here and can gain compensation. Chosen One won on soft ground here last July and can go close from a 2lb lower mark if the going turns heavy.
