Kilbeggan Blade, The Outlier and Kelami form the shortlist in another competitive contest and we will side with Kilbeggan Blade. Tom George's 8-year-old is a course and distance winner and he won well last time here over 3m4f when beating Truckers Tavern. He has his ground conditions today, he is fully effective over this trip and this progressive chaser should take plenty of beating. The Outlier won the Peter Marsh chase here impressively last time but that was over a longer trip and he is at his best when his stamina comes into play. He will relish the ground and he is sure to run a big race but we would be sweeter on his chance if he was racing over a longer trip. Kelami won the William Hill Trophy at the Cheltenham festival two years ago and he has been struggling against the handicapper ever since. He will be winning races again soon but he may just find a couple too good in a race as hot as this. The Paul Nicholls stable is in very good form at present so it would come as no surprise if Cornish Rebel ran a big race at an each-way price, conversely Kandjar d'Allier is from a stable that have gone off the boil. This is a fascinating race and we will nominate Kilbeggan Blade to land the prize.
