        Verdict

        Fairmile, Dansili Dancer and Mutawaffer are the three to pick out in this open affair and Fairmile is selected to follow up his John Smith's Cup win. Clive Cox's Dansili Dancer has been raised only four pounds for a Sandown win last time and that looks generous when you consider he also won a Goodwood handicap this season. He must go close. Mutawffer has run well in defeat this season and is still well handicapped. He finished a staying on second at Headquarters last time and is consistent. He looks set to run well. Kempton winner Fairmile took the John Smith's Cup in fine style and Walter Swinburn's runner has been treated leniently here, raised only six pounds. That was a career best performance and he landed a big ante post gamble. he looks certain to progress further and Fairmile can win again.
