In depth

Verdict

A wide-open handicap here and many have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Esoterica, Million Percent and Champain Sands and the tentative nomination is given to Esoterica. The selection won in game fashion last time out when beating Million Percent and although that rival is weighted to gain his revenge here the selection is more straight forward and he is taken to defy the handicapper under conditions that suit. Million Percent is sure to have his supporters on these revised terms but this hold up performer will need plenty of luck in running and he looks opposable on that basis. Champain Sands beat Emperors well last time out and is another with place claims but he looks vulnerable under his penalty. Emperors Well has never won off a mark this high before and is readily opposed while Society Music has his ideal conditions but looks vulnerable off this mark. Of the others Kansas Gold could improve for the fitting of first time cheekpecies and could go well at a price but in a race where few can be ruled out for the winner we return to Esoterica.
