Verdict

Premio Loco won a conditions stakes at Newmarket before finishing fourth in a Group 2 at Goodwood. The nine-year-old was well behind the consistent Gabrial in the Summer Mile at Ascot earlier, however, and is unlikely to reverse that form here with Richard Fahey's charge, who was third in this grade at York last time. Highland Knight finished ahead of Gabrial at Chester in May but that was over 1m2f while Nine Realms steps out of handicap company so we'll concentrate on the three-year-olds with MONTIRIDGE fancied to confirm Goodwood running with Tawhid and Glory Awaits, despite carrying a penalty. The Hannon colt had a bit in hand and still appears to be on an upward curve. Hay Dude takes a big step up in class but is a tough sort who could run well at a big price.
