Verdict

Hard to be enthusiastic with PIPPA'S GIFT awarded preference. His best work has been on the Polytrack, notably when a good second to Barnet Fair in June at Kempton. Not disgraced last time behind Redvers, this could be a good chance if able to transfer that level to grass, where he's rated 5lb lower than on the all weather. Diamond Blue is the obvious improver after two runs but seemed to have her limitations exposed last time in an ordinary Redcar handicap after doing well to land a Catterick maiden on debut. Celtic Sixpence would definitely be the one on last season's juvenile form and is tempting but has shown little or nothing this time round. Watch the market as connections like a tilt at the ring on this season's evidence.
