In depth

Verdict

HAWRIDGE KING is not easy to catch right but he could be worth chancing here; Gifted Leader, Cleaver and Trip The Light head the list of alternatives. The selection has gone well here in the past, including when winning over the course and distance, and he looks as though he could be dropping back down to a competitive mark. He has conditions to suit and he could prove to be the value call. Gifted Leader won over this course and distance two runs back and he then lost no caste in defeat at York behind Mull Of Dubai. Ian Williams is in good form and another bold showing is expected here. Cleaver is a consistent sort and he should be capable of running into a place once again, while Trip The Light won well last time and this longer trip will not be a problem for Richard Fahey's four-year-old. An open race to conclude proceedings and a chance is taken on Hawridge King.
