Verdict

Hazelrigg is unlikely to be risked if the ground stays as it is but rain should see him take part and run out the winner. Leonid Glow and Harlech Castle are amongst others to consider. Hazelrigg landed his maiden at Thirsk in impressive fashion and was backed as though defeat was out of the question on his handicap bow over the same course and distance next time. Sadly, for his supporters that was not the case but he ran pretty well in a decent little race at Newmarket last time on quick ground and just needs a bit of rainfall to enable him to strut his stuff. Novellen Lad disappointed at Doncaster but hasn't many miles on the clock and can be forgiven one poor run but Leonid Glow and Supermassive Muse make more appeal having both won impressively last time. Of the pair, the former makes more appeal as the handicapper has hammered the latter. Harlech Castle had been in doldrums but had slipped down the weights as a result and appeared to be on the way back last time. He races from the same mark today and looks weighted to go well but Hazelrigg appeals as the more progressive as long as he gets his ground.
