      Verdict

Hounded and Loua are interesting newcomers in this juvenile contest but Hill of Howth ran to badly to be true at Wolverhampton last time and is worth another chance on earlier form at York. The selection had run Marcus Andronicus close first time out at the Knavesmire, with subsequent winners Sonny Santino and Leo behind in third and fourth place and Kevin Ryan's colt is worth another chance on that evidence. Nigel Tinkler's pair Lucksin and Dylan have both shown ability from limited opportunities, while Mark Johnston's Clear Veneer is probably better than she has shown so far; however, a bigger threat may come from one of the newcomers. Michael Bell's two-year-olds have yet to start firing so the chances are that Chris Corsa is likely to need the run; a comment that also applies to Clive Brittain's Loua. The biggest threat then is likely to come from the Michael Jarvis-trained Hounded, a sprint-bred half-brother to a couple of winners. Hill of Howth has an obvious chance on debut form though and on that evidence, he is the one they have to beat.
