    Verdict

A number of these shaped well first time up in decent maiden company. All-bar Princess Tamay are respected with a narrow vote awarded to MITCHELTON. The Johnston charge was asked to race wide with no cover on her Doncaster debut and, in the circumstances, applied herself well to finish a one-and-a-half-lengths third to the more experienced Fair Ranger. She can only benefit from that initial outing likewise Khalice, who shaped really well on her Pontefract debut when staying on stoutly to take the runner-up spot - improvement looks assured. Gown was seemingly unfancied when runner-up on her Newbury debut behind a more experienced Hannon inmate but Charles Hills has his string in fine fettle at present. She is a major player, too, in a trappy contest.
