Strawberry Patch deserves to get his head in front but Jim Goldie's gelding has yet to prove himself with cut in the ground and a better bet looks to be recent Warwick winner Brigadore, who gets the vote ahead of Newkeylets. The last mentioned has a nice racing weight and has been running consistently well of late so can be expected to be thereabouts again. Colonel Cotton should handle the ground and has slipped to a fair mark but has given little sign of encouragement of late, while Joyeaux is probably a shade high in the weights. Old campaigner Paddywack and Linda Perratt's Oeuf A La Neige are others to consider but the vote goes to Brigadore, who was good value for his Warwick success having found trouble and should not mind the drop back in trip to the minimum distance.
