Verdict

Blue Clumber gained her first-ever success on soft ground at Chepstow last week for which she carries a 6lb penalty. She's likely to find conditions very different here. Bapak Pesta showed easily his best form so far under Kevin Stott at Carlisle last week and further progress would see him in the frame but Charlemagne Diva has won three times, all at Thirsk, and never from a mark this high. Gold Beau got off the mark in a Redcar maiden in June but hasn't really shone in handicaps so this can go to ALEXANDRAKOLLONTAI. The last twice she's run over this track and trip she's won, though both victories were obtained in testing conditions. She's well enough treated and any rain would aid her cause greatly.
