In depth

Verdict

Flylowflylong, Grand Opera and Red Duster look the three to concentrate on here and the vote is given to Flylowflylong. The selection probably failed to handle the soft ground at Salisbury last time but this lightly-raced filly would have strong claims based on her previous two efforts and we are happy to put her forward as the one to beat. Grand Opera is a well-bred colt from the shrewd Howard Johnson yard. He will not have to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning debut here but the suspicion is that he may be better over further in time. Unless the market vibes are positive then we are prepared to watch him on this occasion. Red Duster really catches the eye on breeding and anything Michael Bell sends to post in these type of events is entitled to plenty of respect. Kilbaari and Charles Street Lad were a little disappointing first time out but are sure to come on for the experience and they are others to consider, but for the winner we are happy to return to Flylowflylong.
