      Verdict

      Dark Charm was good value for his win over a mile here last time but is not certain to appreciate the return to further off his new mark today so preference is for Doctor Scott, with Princess Lavinia rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has failed to stay further in recent starts but has slipped back to a winning mark as a result and looks worth a wager on ground conditions that suit. Red Chairman was good value for his win here in July but has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper for that success and may have to settle for minor honours once more. Miss Sure Bond ran better at Beverley last time but remains a maiden and it is hard to see him losing that tag here. A 5lb rise for her narrow success at Yarmouth last time looks harsh for Geoff Wragg's Princess Lavinia and a safer bet looks to be Doctor Scott who gets the verdict.
