In depth

Verdict

CATAMARCA can sail home from Charlotte Point and Breadstick. John Gosden has an impressive thirty two per cent strike rate at the Essex track and anything he runs here merits the utmost respect. Catamarca made her debut over course and distance just eighteen days ago and produced a satisfactory display. Normal improvement can see her take the spoils. Breadstick finished a length and a half in front of her on that occasion but already had the benefit of a run to her name. That form puts her firmly in the picture but we'll take the Gosden runner to improve past her. Charlotte Point has shown enough to think that she can win her maiden but she is a little more exposed than her two principal rivals who don't have appear to have very much to find with her. She should be involved in the finish but Catamarca is taken to steal the limelight.
