    Verdict

VELOSO is a course and distance winner and comes here on the back of a fair effort at Wolverhampton; he gets the tentative vote over Fantasy Ride. Again, this contest will not set the world alight, however something has to win. Alan McCabe's six-year-old has evidently had his problems but he looks sure to appreciate the return to this longer trip and gets the vote accordingly. Fantasy Ride tops the weights but his all-weather form from earlier in the year reads fairly well and he should bounce back from an abject run on soft ground last time. Looks The Business has a similar official rating and has bits and pieces of decent form, as does Zuwaar. Officially rated 67, just 3lbs less than the selection, he is actually better treated at these weights. He drops in class today but his two recent runs have been woeful and he still has stamina to prove. A race that won't take much winning and Veloso is selected.
