In depth

Verdict

Vainglory is selected to land this very competitive 10 furlong handicap where a case can be made for a large number of the contenders including Art Man, Curzon Prince and Gold Prospect. Vainglory returns here after a fine third at Chester last time behind Mull Of Dubai in what was a hotly contested event. While his consistency means he receives no leniency from the assessor, there appeared to be some well handicapped sorts around him at Chester. Art Man represents a formidable team where if the market speaks, one should certainly tale note. Racing off a career high mark here, he was a winner last time over course and distance but this will be much stiffer. Curzon Prince is a progressive sort who saves many of his best performances for the polytrack surfaces. He didn't appear the strongest of stayers at his first attempt at this trip on his penultimate start, however that was on unsuitably soft ground. Gold Prospect re-opposes Curzon Prince after their clash at Wolverhampton last time where a muddling pace did not suit Michael Bell's charge. Vainglory is given the nod after that good effort at Chester last time.
