    Verdict

An open heat to commence proceedings and the selection here is KARKY SCHULTZ, who is a tentative choice to outpoint Minwir and Penrice Castle. The selection is more interesting now returned to this trip and blinkered for the first time, and if he retains anything like the ability that saw him contest races a fair bit stronger than this last season, then he should be able to win. He has already shown a decent piece of form around here too, which is a bonus. Minwir won a similar contest over c&d a couple of starts back and was never in it at Lingfield last time. Returned here and from just 3lb higher he can get involved. Penrice Castle has been dropped 6lb to a lowly 49 now after failing in three sellers. Ryan Moore takes the mount as the filly returns to handicapping and money would make her very interesting. The Little Fizzer went well in defeat at Brighton last time and she is on a pretty handy mark at present, so a win for her is not out of the question. Bilboa has form over c&d and is in good form in context, so prize money may await, but we'll side with Karky Schultz. (Jonathan Doidge)
