Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

AUTUMN MORNING gets the vote with Andean Margin and Captain Walcot the others of note. The selection dotted up in a Wolverhampton claimer despite her rider carrying 3lb worth of overweight. That was her first run over further than six furlongs and if she can carry it through to non-plating company, there is an argument to suggest that she is in at the right end of the handicap at present. Andean Margin has no easy task in lumping his welter weight around here. That recent win was his first run in headgear so it remains to be seen as to whether he falls for the same trick twice. Captain Walcot is respected from the Richard Hannon stable if able to reproduce his most recent effort at Kempton Park. Thewaytosanjose made a mockery of the handicapper's assessment at Southwell and is unsurprisingly out again quickly. Sicilian Pink showed some promise in a Newmarket maiden during the summer but has disappointed backers on more than one occasion. Hawkspring shapes as if having a modicum of ability though has a few questions to answer after a below par run at Kempton. Plenty of plausible winners and Autumn Morning gets the vote.
