Jim Bolger won this a year ago with the excellent Trading Leather, though he already had racecourse experience unlike Mandatario, who cost 120,000gns as a foal. Abushamah made a very encouraging debut behind Agena at Leopardstown and Kerkeni has run well in what looked strong maidens at the Curragh. Bootsandbars ran well for a 33/1 chance at Roscommon but Aidan O'Brien, who won this with Jan Vermeer in 2009, can strike again with JOHN CONSTABLE, a full-brother to St Leger winner Leading Light and closely related to numerous winners. Cheeky Chappie is another newcomer to keep an eye on.
