KING OF ORIEL won this a year ago and has been alternating between the Flat and hurdling subsequently. He's only 2lb higher and would have gone close but for falling at the last at the Galway Festival and with Ross Coakley's claim to aid his cause he's taken to reprise last year's success. Gary Halpin was on board when Bogardus beat two rivals to gain his first victory at Wexford in July and again when his mount failed to stay 1m4f at Tramore. This looks his trip and a big run is expected. Daigreen hasn't won for over two years and would prefer some rain while Stynes is still a maiden after 18 starts and this could prove too short. The lightly raced Keyboard Melody looked a certain future winner when runner-up at Ballinrobe but didn't come up to expectations when a beaten favourite at Sligo. Water Sprite gained a surprise victory at Listowel on Friday, her first sign of form, so a 5lb penalty shouldn't be enough to prevent another big run.
