Verdict

Waldvogel is a fascinating contender however YES MR PRESIDENT is a course and distance winner who can put his experience to good use and see off strong challenges from Quai D'Orsay and Cool Strike. Mark Johnston has a strong hand here with three of the field, but Yes Mr President looks the most interesting. The in-form Neil Callan is riding well and he looks a good jockey booking for a horse who likes to race prominently. He has a good draw to work from and is rated much better than his run at Haydock last time where he chased too strong a pace. The step back up in trip will suit and he may be hard to beat. Stablemates Quai D'Orsay and Drill Sergeant are capable of big efforts; the former is a progressive three-year-old although this trip may stretch him at this stage of his career, and both are closely linked with Sugar Ray on their run behind Hits Only Vic at York last time. Ryan Moore looks an interesting jockey booking for Manyriverstocross who has a 4lb pull in the weights with Cool Strike when beaten by the latter at Newmarket last time. Candle could be well-treated off 83, Bureaucrat is a decent dual-performer whilst Precision Break is sure to be suited by the return to this trip. Rock Ascot showed little on his UK debut at Newbury but his trainer is a wily old fox who now steps this former Spanish Group One winner up in trip and he cannot be ignored, along with Waldvogel who was last seen 159 days ago at Nad Al Sheba and this ex-German gelding should appreciate the longer trip today. Mark Johnston won this race in 2002, 2003 and 2005 and he can take it again with Yes Mr President.
