Verdict

Amanda Perrett has won this twice in recent years and Four Nations looks the better of her two entries with his young rider's claim a big help. Mark Johnston's Greyfriars Drummer has dropped 6lb in the handicap after unplaced efforts in tough handicaps and may have been laid out for this though stablemate Halifax looks to have a better chance as he failed to last out the two miles at Ascot last time after an impressive success over this trip at Newbury. Another Johnston inmate, SADLER'S RISK, could hardly have seen his Chester Vase form better boosted by winner and runner-up Treasure Beach and Nathaniel and is given the vote despite a big weight. Watercourse was hit with a 10lb rise after an impressive success over 1m2f at Haydock but Bridle Belle is improving fast though she wouldn't want the ground to dry out and it was soft going when Whiplash Willie ran out a very impressive winner at Salisbury. Arch Fire never got into contention over 1m2f at Ascot but was staying on and must be a major threat as his stable have won this twice in recent years.
