Verdict

This race looks more competitive than the first division which opened the card, and Diliza gets a tentative vote, with Mad Carew, Olivia Rose and Our Lady also on the shortlist. Mad Carew hails from the Gary Moore stable which generally runs well here and he takes a drop in grade having run reasonably well when fourth at Epsom last time, so he should be thereabouts. Our Lady is a relatively lightly-raced filly with George Margarson, and she didn't run badly when third in a seller at Yarmouth last time, so must also come into the reckoning off a mark of just 62. Olivia Rose takes a drop in class having finished a good second at Musselburgh last time out, but we'll just take a chance with Toby Balding's Diliza. She won over this trip at Salisbury last year and has some fair form to her name in 2003, but is now just three pounds higher than that success. She goes well for this five pound claimer and is fancied to run a decent race at a big price here.
