Verdict

The market should provide the best guide to the outcome of this race but Peter Grimes is the selection in anticipation of support for Harry Dunlop's charge where possible dangers include Mr Udagawa, Perfect Shot and Mykingdomforahorse. The selection has had two racecourse appearances, showing improvement from first to second, his second when staying on well in the closing stages to complete the placings at Salisbury. The form of that maiden may not amount to much but there was sufficient promise to suggest an auction maiden of this standard should be within his grasp. Mr Udagawa hails from a yard that have introduced some smart juveniles in recent weeks, staying on from behind on debut. More will be needed but the experience should do him good while Perfect Shot was disappointing last time having showed promise on debut. Mykingdomforahorse steps back up in trip following an attempt at seven furlongs last time. Breeding suggests he will be more effective over further but like many juveniles from this yard, they tend to be primed and quite often do not progress like other yards juveniles. Peter Grimes is the selection to land this auction maiden.
