In depth

Verdict

In this very tight handicap we will take a chance on Endless Summer, with Kingscross and Currency put forward as the main dangers. Trainer Tony Carroll is striking while the iron is hot with this seven-year-old, following an excellent victory at Leicester on Monday. That was his first success since his juvenile days, and as he won with a bit in hand, looks set to defy a penalty. Kingscross put up a brave display in a Classified event at Haydock last time, going down by just a length to the progressive Solar Power and looks a big threat to the selection. Meanwhile Currency, who has been on the go all season, must have strong claims on his recent running behind Malapropism at Doncaster. Najeebon is returning to form and is another to be wary of, but Endless Summer is expected to go close in his bid for a quick double.
