Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

St Petersburg is the preferred option in this race with Tudor Prince, Indian Edge and Namid Reprobate put forward as plausible alternatives. The selection is perfectly at home with significant cut underfoot and while his recent form has been shaky to say the least, it is worth remembering that he has dropped significantly in the weights as a consequence. Tudor Prince takes a step up in trip. He lost his way when with Brian Meehan but is another who handles conditions. Indian Edge steps up in grade having obliged in lesser company. The perennial front-runner will be therabouts. Namid Reprobate is effective on all types of ground and backers can be safe in the knowledge that Paul Cole has sent out winners during the last seven days. Orchard Supreme made all to win on good ground at Ascot and will be a danger to all if adapting to today's conditions. Crocodile Bay has ability but is something of an enigma these days. St Petersburg has been given a chance by the assessor and has conditions to suit on this occasion.
