Verdict

Brian Meehan has his string in form and can enjoy further success here with MANHATTAN FOX, while Berling and Banks And Braes are respected. The last-named put in a good effort when beaten just a couple of lengths at Chester last time and is stepped up a mile here, which should be a positive. Berling was given a good education when tried over this trip on his Newmarket debut last month and he should be capable of showing much more this time around. He should go on most ground and today's will be fine for him, so the market might give us a clue as to how much he has come on at home. Finest Reserve has the profile of one who will do better when sent handicapping, but Magnetic Force is likely to improve plenty for a quiet introduction at Sandown, and for the step up to a mile. Trewarthenick has not given much of a hint at ability just yet and is another for whom handicapping beckons after this run, and preference is for Manhattan Fox. Brian Meehan gave the Elusive Quality colt some education at Newbury and he then went very close over this trip at Thirsk last time. Decent ground suits and he looks like the one they all have to beat.
