      Verdict

BROOKLYN SPIRIT is very much unexposed and the suggestion to take this handicap, while there are a number of potential dangers. Clive Cox wastes no time here in stepping up the selection to a mile-and-a-half after he relished the Sandown hill over shorter last time, taking a decent maiden in the process. There are those prepared to oppose him in a handicap for the first time, but the assessor's rating of 77 can't be much more than guesswork after just two runs and may seem very lenient come the finish. Going For Gold is among the dangers. Her Majesty The Queen's filly was the comfortable winner of a Haydock handicap over this trip in July before a 6lb rise and slower ground may have found her out last time. She is not ruled out now tried again on a faster surface. Sam Sharp is not bred for this trip but he certainly raced as though he may well get it when tried at Chepstow, while has enough solid form to get involved. Mykingdomforahorse is not certain to stay but is worth a try at the trip, while the same applies to Rockfella, and Hazy Dancer probably looks more interesting. There are mixed reports from the Tregoning yard but he has still had winners this week and this unexposed Oasis Dream filly should love the ground and has plenty of stamina on her dam's side. Even so, Brooklyn Spirit looked a real improver last time and can show it today.
