Verdict

The Patrick Morris-trained Ask Jenny only won by a nose when successful at Bath last month and failed to overcome the 3lb rise for that at Yarmouth subsequently so he looks best left out of calculations here, while John Best's Alfresco has struggled against the handicapper since winning at Goodwood in May and looks booked for a place at best. Kyllachy Storm never looked like getting involved over seven furlongs at Chepstow last month so should appreciate the drop back in trip today and he makes more appeal than Peter Hedger's Slip Sliding Away, who is very much in form having won two of his last three starts but has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper having been raised a further 6lb for his narrow success at Ascot last time. With Goodwood Maestro readily discounted on the basis of recent form, it is hard to get away from POSE. Richard Hannon's filly looks worth another chance after a below par effort at Windsor last month having run well in two previous outings this term.
