RAMBLING LIGHT made an encouraging re-appearance and can claim this competitive handicap, with recent winner Lodi and Desert Dreamer best of the rest. Though running with credit since scoring at Windsor a year ago, Lodi had failed to win off a lofty handicap mark until scoring in smooth fashion at Lingfield last week. Only 4lbs higher here, he will have had his confidence boosted. A winner at Warwick two outings ago, Desert Dreamer is unusually consistent and rarely out of the frame. The handicapper has been lenient, and another good run is expected. A winner at Windsor last year, Rambling Light travelled well for much of the way on his re-appearance, before fading, probably through lack of fitness. He has come down the handicap following his winless run, and Rambling Light can shine once more.
