In depth

Verdict

Richard Hannon's Forward Move showed plenty of promise on his Kempton debut when beaten a short head by Humourous and is entitled to respect but, at the likely odds, we would rather look elsewhere with preference going to Tamatave, who gets the nod over Rumbalara. The selection looked in need of the experience when down the field in a Newmarket maiden last month and should have learned a good deal from that experience. Godolphin's juveniles are in fine form at present and the son of Darshaan is taken to give them another winner. There are plenty of interesting newcomers in the line up including Marcus Tregoning's Singspiel colt Emile Zola and Amanda Perrett's Groundcover, who is by Zafonic. Both represent stables quite capable of producing a youngster to win first time out and have to be respected. Mick Channon's two-year-olds are starting to fire so Royal Jet is another worthy of a mention along with John Dunlop's Eva Soneva So Fast, who has shown promise in two starts so far. The biggest threat though may come from the John Gosden-trained Rumbalara, who stepped up on her debut effort when a good second at Epsom. She has solid claims on that effort but may want more cut in the ground so the vote goes to Tamatave.
