Verdict

ARCTIC FREEDOM can keep the ball rolling for the Dunlop family and gets the nod over Albertine Rose and Equinine. The well-bred newcomer Ailsa Craig is another to bear in mind, as she is introduced at a modest level and should have no issues with the trip on breeding. Equinine has started to get the hang of things and has little to find with Albertine Rose from their encounter at Windsor a fortnight ago. She still holds an entry in the Cheveley Park Stakes; so her connections will be hoping for a big run. In turn Albertine Rose is open to plenty of improvement and, as her dam coped well with cut in the ground, she ought to handle the conditions without a problem. William Muir's juveniles are usually sharper for a run, so market confidence would be dangerous to dismiss out of hand. Nevertheless, Arctic Freedom really caught the eye as a filly to follow when she finished a close second on her debut at Newmarket in June. She is related to a hatful of winners as two-year-olds, so her absence since mid summer is not really a concern. Ed Dunlop's filly also has a Cheveley Park entry amongst her list of targets and, even though she may not make the grade for that particular showpiece, the daughter of War Chant could easily be good enough to sweep this lot aside en route to a step up in class next time.
