    Verdict

The blinkers may enable TRANQUIL TIGER to gain revenge on Lion Sands and land this race in the process. Sixties Icon and Galactic Star have to be to the fore of a host of dangers. There was some criticism of the ride the selection received when he was narrowly beaten by Lion Sands in a Listed race at Newmarket last time but he didn't do a great deal in front and the blinkers may help him concentrate here. He may also benefit from having been given a break and has the ability to take a hand in the finish. He has ground to make up on both Sixties Icon and Galactic Star who filled the places immediately in front of him at Newmarket in May behind Getaway. Sixties Icon is a proven performer, a course and distance winner and unpenalised to boot; his stable was out of form when he flopped at Royal Ascot but it's a concern that he lost his way in the second half of last season. Galactic Star went on to finish last in the Grand Prix de Chantilly and has been absent since; he does need to improve but there are few better trainers around at bringing on older horses. He was a long way behind Crime Scene when the Godolphin runner landed a soft-ground Group 3 in October but the victor is penalised for that success which counts against him as the penalty also does for Stotsfold who took third in this last year. Luca Cumani provided the winner that day and has another strong contender in Lion Sands whilst German raider Dickens doesn't appear to have too much to find in order to get involved. Keep an eye on the weather as rain is forecast and would be a negative for the selection.
