Verdict

Dermot Weld wastes no time in bringing out ROCK CRITIC after a facile success over a mile here on Thursday and the six-year-old will be hit with a much bigger rise in the weights than the 5lb penalty he carries here. The three-year-old Jamesie has been in superb form since dropping into sprints but a 7lb rise and longer trip may prove his downfall. Elusive Award has been finding 1m1f just beyond him and though he's scored over today's trip he may be better over a mile, a remark that also applies to the tough and consistent Castle Bar Sling. Ask Jack, who generally goes well on the track, was made favourite for a handicap here on Tuesday but never got involved and can do better.
