Verdict

These look a very modest bunch so it would be no surprise if Saqil, who had three runs on the Flat in Ireland for Dermot Weld, were to prove good enough on his first start for Tim Vaughan. Oliver Sherwood does well here but Springtime Melody showed very little on the level. Memorabilia has won three times on the all-weather, however, and was only beaten a head over 1m4f at Pontefract in June. He will go close if his jumping holds up but we'll take a chance on BALLINA BLUE, who is a half-brother to a winning hurdler and ran his best race so far in a Kempton maiden earlier this month. He should be suited by this trip.
