    Verdict

    CURRENT EVENT is certain to start a short-priced favourite here and is difficult to oppose after his impressive chasing debut over the C&D in November. He hasn't run subsequently but should still be good enough though the consistent Get It On won't go down without a fight. He's been competing at a decent level since making a winning debut over fences at Sedgefield in September and today's ground conditions will prove ideal. Edlomond produced a much improved effort when runner-up to Imperial Shabra at Stratford and as he hasn't had much experience there's no reason why he should make further progress.
