Verdict

This looks a very tricky opener with most having some sort of chance on the form book. Vincitore may possibly need his first outing since falling over a slightly shorter trip here in October but the other penalised runner, Khorun, will be all the better for his fourth at Musselburgh three weeks ago. Recent Warwick third Zakeeta has already won twice over 2m3f here, while Clowance House sports blinkers for the first time as he's tried over a longer trip - he's found only one too good at Leicester and Taunton since the turn of the year. Cocacobana and Cousin Maggie have ability but SUM LAFF gets the vote as he's already proven his stamina at this distance and is still improving, even though his long-term future surely lies over fences.
