In depth

Verdict

Lightning Star was good value for his course and distance success in similar grade last month and is taken to follow up at the main expense of Red Nose Lady and Borehill Joker. The last mentioned has claims on the pick of his form but faces no easy task giving weight away all round and he is probably best watched today. Jivaty is best in at the weights on official BHB ratings but has given little sign of encouragement of late having been pulled up on each of his last three starts, although they were all over fences. Outside Investor has little chance at the weights, while Forbearing is marginally preferred to Oulton Broad of Frank Jordan's two runners, although neither looks good enough. Of more interest may be Red Nose Lady, who has won her last two starts in similar contests, but this looks tougher and preference is for Lightning Star.
