In depth

Verdict

Numide looked a cut above average when winning at Leicester and can make it two from two today. Six Day War and De Welsh Wizzard could be the ones to chase him home. Gary Moore's runner was a smart performer on the level and appears to have transferred a large portion of that ability to this game judging by his smooth debut success. It would be a surprise if he cannot follow up. De Welsh Wizzard shaped with a degree of promise in a Newbury bumper and should be all the better for that initial experience but is likely to come into his own over further. Of more appeal is Six Day War whose experience of hurdling will stand him in good stead; that debut run at Kempton was not devoid of promise and he could finish in the money. It's hard to look beyond Numide for the winner of the opener though.
