Verdict

The finale can go the way of King Supreme; Celt and Sortita look the chief dangers. King Supreme has been a model of consistency of late and we know that he will handle today's ground conditions. He deserves to get his head in front and he will not get a better chance than this. Sortita is lightly-raced and he will go on the ground, but he was well beaten on his handicap debut last time and he will need to leave that running behind if he is to get competitive today. Celt is a course and distance winner but his overall form profile could leave him vulnerable today off his current mark. Australia Day may need some help from the handicapper before he is able to resume winning ways, a comment that would also apply to Press The Button. King Supreme is the pick.
