Verdict

Wanchai Whisper has an obvious chance if turning up here after a near miss off this rating last time but with him due to be engaged at Windsor on Monday a better choice might be last year's winner STEP IT UP. There's every chance that Jim Boyle has targeted his runner at a repeat performance and although the gelding is 9lb heavier than when winning this he is a few pounds lighter in the handicap than when last in front. Luminous Gold is a bit of a course specialist and if a line is drawn through his last run would be a contender as would be Love You Louis, who won his only start at this track but STEP IT UP is weighted to retain his title.
