Verdict

To say that this race would be better suited to Blackpool beach would be an injustice to those Lancastrian stalwarts of the sand. Cragganmore Creek would have a chance, however The Iron Giant represents a stable in form and is taken to score. The Iron Giant looks the pick of Brendan Powell's runners on jockey bookings and whilst he is still a maiden after many starts, this beautifully bred gelding is fancied to finally get off the mark. Montgomery should have come on for his recent fourth so rates a danger, as does Ndola who should be fit from the jumps and at least knows how to win. War Feather steps up in trip which may suit, whilst Courant D'Air is returning from an age off the track so will probably need the run. A vile affair, and with eyes closed and fingers crossed we plump for The Iron Giant.
