Verdict

The draw will no doubt play a part here, and with that in mind, Handsome Cross in stall six may improve enough to beat Catie Dash who has the scope but also has it to do from the one box. Handsome Cross was the only one to lay it down to the useful Pastoral Pursuits at Chepstow recently, and must surely take the beating on that form. The drop back to the minimum trip is not seen as a problem, and he should outclass his rivals. With Catie Dash probably having to make her way to the far rail as quickly as possible, thereby forfeiting ground, Best Desert may be the one to give the selection most to do. He ran green on his Sandown debut but still finished a creditable third behind two much more fancied opponents, and will come on for the run. However, Handsome Cross will be hard to beat and should get favourite backers off to a flyer.
